    Fall Things

Published: Oct 17, 2014 · Modified: Apr 21, 2020 by Whitney Reist · This post may contain affiliate links |

Happy Friday!  This weekend I'm so happy to be spending with my family in my hometown of Christiansburg, VA and going to a sweet friend's wedding - we are having a wonderful time and it's been great to be home {although I wish Ryan could have come along}! Travel is always a good excuse to do a "favorite things photo dump," so today I'm gonna do just that!

Here's my 4 Fall Essentials that have really made the season for Ryan and I:

    Silver Pumpkins

    1. Decorations - These antique mercury glass pumpkins are my absolute favorite fall decorations.  Last fall I had been pining over them in the Potter Barn catalog but couldn't justify the price.  That's when Tuesday Morning came to my rescue! They are such a great haven for holiday decor and were selling the pumpkins for half the price of Pottery Barn. Score!

    Silver Pumpkins

    2. Trader Joe's - no store does "fall" like good ol' Trader Joe's.  If you ever craved the pumpkin version of your favorite snack, drink, spread, baking mix, or baked goodies, they have it.  And usually at an amazing price.  Looking for fairytale pumpkins and gourds of all sizes? Look no further than TJ's - they have every shape, color, and size.  I've found their pumpkin prices to be the best in Dallas {and now Lincoln}.  My current TJ's fall favs are the pumpkin bagels and spiced apple cider (no sugar added and the taste is to die for - only $2.99!).

    Fall Goodies

    3. Game Day Food - fall = football season = super yummy snacky football food.  I've tried a few new recipes this year and these are my favs:

Zucchini Pizza Bites from Closet Cooking .  Modification: I used turkey pepperoni!

    Zucchini Pizza Bites

Cheesy Chili Dip from Pinch of Yum.  Modification: I used 4 ounces of chicken chorizo instead of the 1 pound of of pork sausage.

    Chili Cheese Dip

Spiced Sugar Cookies from Annie's Eats.  Modifications: we made ½ of a recipe and frosted them with homemade buttercream and Wilton food color gels.

    Spiced Cutout Cookies

[…] can get….and each occasion needs it’s own special flavor of cookie dough. Remember the maple spiced cutouts Ryan and I did for Halloween? Christmas cutouts, for me anyway, need to be made of gingerbread […]
