    New Contributor Intro: Valory

Published: Feb 4, 2015 · Modified: Jan 25, 2020 by Whitney Reist · This post may contain affiliate links |

Time for another new author introduction! It's my pleasure to welcome Valory, my 19 year old sister and fellow foodie kindred-spirit. We could talk about food and what new recipes we've been gawking over all day. Val prefers vegetarian fare these days {she very rarely eats meat...but will occasionally splurge on a nibble of my famous candied bacon!}; and her creativity in introducing our family to creations like chia seed pudding, buffalo wing-style cauliflower and quinoa truffles has inspired me to have more vegetarian cooking adventures in my own kitchen!

    Valory

Pretty soon, Val will be embarking on a new chapter of life as she moves away to music school/college in the fall of 2015. She's still in the process of auditioning to several music conservatories in hopes of becoming a professional violinist, and we are all anxious to see where she will end up {hopefully somewhere fun for a road trip}! Val is an amazingly talented and dedicated musician, and I'm over-the-moon thrilled that she's taking time out of crazy schedule to share some of her creativity on Sweet Cayenne.

    Val

I hope you enjoy getting to know Valory in the coming year - here's a little bio for starters!

    1. Personal Profile:

    • Name- Valory Hight
    • Age- 19
    • Eye color- Green

    2. Describe your style in 3 words:

    Grunge, Urban, Eclectic

    3. What are you wearing right now?

Joggers, Black tank, and my comfy sweater from Urban Outfitters  ( #obsessed w/ that store)

    4. What accessory do you most often use to transform an outfit and why?

Even though hair is a part of my body {lol}, I would consider it an accessory because I style it different ways to make my outfit look better or look a certain way. I can scrunch it to make it look grungy, I can put it in a bun for cute and casual, I can curl it in loose waves or tight curls, and I can put it in sleek ponytails to look more sophisticated. The possibilities are endless!

    5. What would you eat for your very last meal?

Probably Fish Tacos from Chichen Itza in California. Best meal ever.  Maybe Whitney and I can recreate them for the blog...

    6. Describe your top 3 goals for 2015.

Exercise more, be more productive, and get into a college!

    7. What are you most excited about as you start to contribute to the Sweet Cayenne blog?

I already love to experiment with things whether it involves food, makeup, clothes, etc.  Sharing it on the blog is a great excuse to do more of it as well as see what feedback/inspiration other people have to give!
