Time for a beauty favs roundup! It’s been a while since my last on back in the spring, but my regimen hasn’t changed that much since then. However, there are a few new products I’ve tried that I’m really enjoying right now – a few fall-ish ones – that I thought would be worth sharing with you. These are all products I’ve purchased myself, have used for a while, and just want to spread the word about how great they are (some affiliate links below)!
Pixi Natural Contour Powder – I’ve been a fan of Pixi products ever since they made their way into my local Target store; and this contour powder is my favorite product from their line thus far. I’m no contouring expert, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned about this makeup effect, contour powder IS NOT the same thing as bronzer. It’s much less orangey, and should be used sparingly to create a shadow effect that better defines your features. The reason I love this powder so much is that it’s the perfect shade for my fair complexion and is extremely easy to blend. It’s very natural looking and does not feel heavy on my face at all. I’d recommend taking peek at this video for info on how to apply it!
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color – Matte lipstick is a favorite of mine, but on busy workdays, it’s just not practical to apply when I’m rushing around. Recently, I was searching for a new lip product with the following criteria: neutral color for fall/everyday, matte finish, easy to apply, non-drying. I’m happy to say this one from Revlon meets all those criteria! Don’t let it’s gloss packaging fool you – it’s an ultra-pigmented liquid color that goes on like a gloss but dries matte. A little goes a long way; and it smells delicious! I’ve tried a bright red shade and a neutral shade, and have to say that you will need lipliner with the brighter shades to prevent bleeding. The nudes go on very easily and you can get by without liner.
Yes To Blueberries Eye Firming Treatment – Now that I’m old enough to not want to share my actual age, I figured it was time to try an eye cream at night. I wanted an all-natural product that would nourish my skin and not break the beauty bank. The Yes To line was the perfect answer for me – it’s great for a foodie because it utilizes produce in the product recipes! I use this eye cream on my lids and under my eyes and have found it to be extremely moisturizing. It’s not greasy at all and it a little goes a long way.
Garnier SKINACTIVE Clean + Invigorating Daily Scrub – For the past 10 years or so, Neutrogena’s Deep Clean Grapefruit face wash has been my cleanser of choice. I love the way it smells and have always had good results with clear skin when using it. However, I recently thought it might be good to change things up a bit. I noticed this cleanser had won a few beauty awards and had great reviews, so I picked up a bottle to try. Let me just say, I’m in LOVE with this product! The peppermint in the scrub leaves my skin feeling tingly-fresh, and you can feel the deep cleansing action immediately. My skin feels so clean after I use this!
Que Bella Cream and Peel-Off Masks – I love doing a mask on the weekends, and these masks are the perfect, quick solution for an at-home spa experience! I always pick a couple up on bi-weekly Target runs, and the cream versions are my favorite. I typically get 2-3 uses from each cream mask and my skin feels so nourished and clean after I use them. The one with aloe and tea tree oil is especially refreshing!
Essie Polish in Bordeaux – This wine-hued polish is my go-to fall color for my toes in the fall. It looks great with everything!
Bath and Body Works White Citrus Ultra Shea Body Cream – If I ever had a a chance to create a “signature scent,” I’m pretty sure it would smell something like this. Just recently, I made a stop on a whim into B&BW after having not visited for ages (like 8 years!). I had heard they had reformulated their body lotions and were now offering some super-nourshing shea body creams. After a good 15 minutes of sniffing around, I found the White Citrus scent and was immediately smitten. I’m a sucker for anything citrus – candles, soaps, cleansers, you name it. This version is clean and just subtle enough to wear everyday and not overwhelm anyone that might be sensitive to fragrance – I always have to keep that mind since I work in a hospital! It’s uber-moisturizing and feel so luxurious!
