Ingredients
OneHarney and Sons empty tea tin, washed and wiped dry
16.7ouncesof natural soy wax, or enough wax to fill your vessel twice
1.3ouncesof fragrance oil, or 8% of your total wax weight; I use Hasel and Gretel’s House scent
One6-inchcotton candle wick
Hot glue gun
Two popsicle sticks
Instructions
In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave the wax on high in increments of 3 minutes, stirring as needed, until the wax is melted and reaches a temperature of 185℉.
While the wax is melting, use a hot glue gun to place a dab of glue on the bottom of the candle wick. Use a popsicle stick to press the bottom of the wick firmly into the center of the tea tin base. Place the popsicle sticks on opposite sides of the wick to hold it in place in the center of the tea tin.
Once the wax is heated and has reached 185℉, slowly pour the fragrance oil in a steady stream. Stir the mixture slowly for 30 seconds.
Let the wax mixture cool to 135℉. Slowly pour the cooled wax into the prepared tea tin.
Adjust the popsicle sticks to hold the wick in place as the wax hardens and cures. Let the candle cure for 24 hours before lighting.
