A smoothie bowl is a thicker, creamier version of a smoothie with the texture of frozen yogurt. Its a filling, refreshing way to enjoy fruits and veggies with protein for a balanced breakfast, post-workout snack, or even dessert!
1 to 2frozen bananasdepending on how sweet/creamy you like it
1cupof frozen blueberries
½cupof unsweetened almond milkor whatever kind you prefer
1scoop of vanilla plant-based protein powdersuch as Vega (optional)
Agave nectar or honey to sweeten as needed
Options for toppings: chia seedsshredded unsweetened coconut, hemp seeds, cinnamon, extra fruit, granola, sliced nuts, sunflower seeds
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a high speed blender until thick and creamy.Add additional ice as needed to thicken.
Pour into a bowl, top with toppings of choice. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For lower sugar use half the amount of fruit.
For more protein use more protein powder or add chia seeds, hemp seeds, nut butters.
Add ice to thicken or use less liquid. Add more liquid to thin.
