Ingredients
2 tablespoonsoil (olive, canola, coconut, whatever you want; I like a neutral-flavor)
⅓cuppopcorn kernels
¼ cupgranulated sugar
2teaspoonssalt (I like coarse Kosher salt)
Instructions
Place a Whirly Pop on the stovetop over medium heat. Add the oil and let heat for a minute. Add the popcorn and sugar. Shake the popcorn maker to combine, then start to turn the crank. Crank continuously as the popcorn heats and pops. When the popping slows, turn the heat to low. Keep cranking until the popping stops. Give the popper a good shake and then transfer to a serving bowl. Add the salt and toss to combine. Serve hot and then make some more!
Notes
If you are using a brand-new Whirly Pop, make plain popcorn in it a few times before making Kettle Corn. This will allow your popper to get seasoned and prevent sugar from sticking.
Treat a Whirly Pop like a cast iron skillet for cleaning! Just use hot water - NO SOAP! You don't want to mess with the natural seasoning of the pan that develops as you use it.
