It's time for Thanksgiving menu #2! And all this menu making is making me REALLY hungry! To be honest, I haven't really decided what I'm going to be preparing for Thanksgiving yet....I think I'm going to let Ryan decide. I had him look at the 3 menus I've made for the blog; and you know what? He chose the one I'm posting today! I'm thinking it's because it involves bacon-wrapped dates - which in my book, are the ultimate drop-the-mic type of festive appetizer. Really, once you had one of these, all other hors-d'oeuvres {totally just googled the spelling} pale in comparison.
This menu is perfect if you plan to share your holiday meal with one very special someone. It's also a perfect fit if you just want to splurge on the actual meal and not have to worry about being tempted with leftovers - because you will literally just have 2-3 servings of each item!
Menu:
- Appetizer: Bacon Wrapped Dates from Pinch of Yum - these will leave you speechless.
- Side: Fall Salad from Cooking Classy - jewel toned-fruit and greens will look stunning on your plate.
- Entree: Individual Turkey Pot Pies from Taste of Home - everything you love about Thanksgiving food in one hot, bubbling, buttery, single-serve dish!
- Dessert: Pumpkin Crème Brulee from Williams Sonoma - these can be made a day ahead and topped/caramelized with sugar right before you plan to eat them. Don't worry if you don't have a culinary torch to brown the tops. Your broiler will work just fine! Simply place the creme brulees under a hot broiler for 1-2 minutes, but watch them the whole time! Remove from under the broiler when the sugar turns brown and bubbly!
What are your Thanksgiving plans this year? Would you make this menu? I’d love to here about your plans in the comments section below!
