    Sweet Chic: Shades of Green

Published: Mar 23, 2016 · Modified: Apr 15, 2020 by Whitney Reist · This post may contain affiliate links |

My green anorak jacket is one of my favorite spring closet staples. It goes with so much and can easily be dressed up or down.

Over the past few years, one of my top go-to closet staples for spring has been my green anorak jacket from J Crew. It was an investment purchase I made a while back, and I'm so happy with the wear I've gotten out of it. Like a good denim or leather jacket, this is a piece that stands the test of time and helps you style your way through the transition months when the weather is so schizophrenic (giving myself  major props because I spelled that correctly the first time - hollaaa!).

I love to wear this jacket while traveling because it goes with such a wide variety of looks - I can pair it with a striped dress, a fun romper, or some heels and jeans for a fun urban look like I've featured in this post. Today I've paired with three spring trends that I happen to love right now: color blocked accessories, caged sandals, and distressed denim. These are all items you can mix and match with other pieces to create a lot of different looks, which is great when you want to streamline your wardrobe and get a lot of wear out of everything!

Color-blocked accessories and caged sandals are two of my favorite spring fashion trends right now. Add an element of chic or edge to any outfit!

This coming weekend marks the start of Mizzou's spring break, which means Ryan will have a little time off that we can spend together. On the agenda: garage/estate sale-ing, hiking, and a big new project that I will tell you allllll about on Friday! Do you have any spring break plans? Tell me about them in the comments below, snap me (sweetcayenne), or tweet me a line about what you are doing (@sweetcayenne5)!
